“ The food is always great, the owner Irma and her staff are always friendly and accommodating, and the interior is clean and beautiful. Tulcingco Del Valle has been here for decades - their longevity alone should serve as a testament that customers have been coming here for years. I've always ordered the Camaron Tostadas whenever I'm in the area. This place is not only a restaurant, next door is a mini authentic Mexican grocery store. Definitely a place to take your family and friends! ”
“ The service at Tulcingo is amazing. The team they have there made sure that our party of 13 guests were all very well taken care of. The ambiance was warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. We weren't rushed and Doña Irma, Jesus set the tone for us to want to return again and again. Thank you so much for everything!! ”
“ We're staying by Times Square and wanted to get away from that scene. Tulcingo seemed like a great spot for that, and it delivered. It's a cute space, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was quite good. My 8 year old said he wants to go back tomorrow. Hard to beat that. ”
“ From the moment I walked into Tulcingo, I was transported straight to my mother's kitchen. The flavors in every dish were an instant reminder of the comfort and warmth I grew up with. Ordering the red chilaquiles was the recommendation from the host, in terms of spice(they are way more spicy than green but both were so flavorful.) As soon as I took my first bite, I was transported back home. Each bite was bursting with the kind of authentic taste you only find in family recipes. The presentation of the food was nothing short of artful, with each plate arriving like a masterpiece, carefully crafted and thoughtfully prepared. It was clear that the team at Tulcingo puts as much care into how the dishes look as they do into how they taste. But the experience didn't stop with the food. The service was absolutely spectacular--attentive, warm, and friendly, making me feel right at home. The staff truly knows how to make you feel special, and their passion for the food and culture shines through. To top it off, the drinks were a perfect complement to the meal. Refreshing, vibrant, and full of flavor, they elevated the entire dining experience. Getting a double margarita is the way to go, so do not order that ;) Tulcingo isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where the soul of Mexico lives in every dish, and where you can feel like family the moment you walk through the door. I can't wait to return when I come back to New York! ”
“ First time here. I wanted some chilaquiles as I am from Southern California and needed some authentic Mexican food. I was not disappointed, the location was near a deli and I ordered the tamarindo mezcal margarita and the red chilaquiles. I was so pleased with the our service and I believe the owner even hosted and waited our table. The food was beyond amazing and authentic to every point. The location is beautiful but small. They play a lot of good music. ”
“ How Tulcingo can be anything less than 5 stars is unimaginable based on our experience. The guacamole was the best we've had. The goat was so moist and flavorful. The pork ribs exceptional. Irma (owner) smiled and said her husband (chef) would take good care of me. He did. And did I say how good the margaritas are? The space is cozy and intimate. ”
“ I don't know what was going on there for a minute but the Tulcingo I love seems to be back! No more hit or miss! The food we've been getting has been fresh and not freezer burnt. The flautas are simply incredible! The huevos en salsa are good. The tamales with cheese and jalapeños are delicious. ”
“ This was the best meal we had on our NYC trip. Also the best service and most reasonably priced. Everything was great! ”
“ Folks from California in particular like to complain that New York doesn't have good Mexican food, which is of course patently untrue. You just have to know where to look, what to order. I got the poblano mole here which I would definitely recommend. (I also had the handmade tortillas with this.) My husband got a burrito, which was fine, I think, but no "mission burrito" (IYKYK). Both of us had clean plates though -- the testament of a good meal I thought the salsas that came with the chips and salsa were all pretty good too. Nothing was mind blowing but the service was super friendly and I walked away with my food cravings pretty satisfied. ”
“ My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Hells Kitchen. Excellent menu items that I'll need to come back several more times to really make a dent. My first visit was a weekday lunch and opted for the Goat Tacos which were AWESOME. A little heavy on the guac and pepper, so recommend getting that on the side, otherwise it'll get messy and honestly it can take away from the goat flavor a bit. Chips and Salsa are the best I've had in New York. Would come back just for those. The service was very quick and friendly. I bonded with the owner over our Texas roots, and she even shared that her son is opening a restaurant in Houston which is now on my hit list there. ”
